Whether you are a leader or a follower, you have the same moral obligation to stand up for what is right and good. To put it simply: always remember to follow “The Golden Rule.”
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12
Unless one is psychologically flawed, one knows and understands what that means. Recently, I learned of a situation where deceit and disrespect were at the forefront. Oddly enough, one participant in particular referred to herself as an “innocent bystander” although she is typically outspoken and portrays herself as being strong. In this situation, she was neither innocent nor strong as she took part and then took the ‘low road’. It was, however, very harmful to someone else and detrimental to a relationship. No need to share details but I am thankful to say that the strength and tenacity of the one who had been deceived won out. An understanding was reached.
How we treat and what we do affecting others is a reflection of our character as well as what we can expect in return. Whether you are a Christian or believe in Karma, the tenet is the same – you reap what you sow. Now, more than ever, we need to understand that principle, believe it, pray for guidance and live by it.
