NEW HOME ~ NEW CHAPTER ~ MOVING FORWARD

First of all, I want to say thank you to followers in spite of a really long hiatus. A lot has happened!  The short story is our family moved from NC back to FL, close to where it all began. Sounds simple but there was an awful lot to do with  almost 30 years’ worth of boxes in the attic along with everything else that needed to be sorted, packed and loaded or donated.  That was a tremendous amount of work but it was also exciting as we were going to be back where we always wanted to be. What could be better than wishing for something and then seeing it all come together?

I’ll tell you what. I can look from our backyard across the lake and see Nicole playing in their backyard or better yet, I can walk around the tip of the lake and in a minute or two and be playing with her! She is growing fast and I love our time together. It has been a dream come true to have our sweet family this close and happy where we are. I am also happy my husband has space and time to continue his woodcrafts on the lathe Daddy wanted him to have.  It’s something he loves to do and he does it very well. He turns all kinds of bowls, vases and more on the lathe which are now available to see and buy at the Arts of the Inland Gallery.

This is a favorite part for me! Bobby needs different types of wood to make pieces really stand out. He found Alva Hardwoods and I went with him. It was like being with a kid in a candy store! For me, it was a blessing to meet the Owner, Mr. Morrison. I found a new and special friend. We talked and he invited us to come to his church. During another trip for wood, I met Lori who’s also a member of the church. She is such a sweet, loving little woman who’s affectionately called the donut lady. I was looking forward to seeing them at church but they attend the early service.

I still wanted to go so I went this past Sunday t to the 11:00 service at Alva Methodist Church. I was so happy to be there. People were welcoming and the message was from Ephesians, “the Armor of God. “Ephesians was written to encourage and strengthen believers in faith as if we were wearing armor. In truth, we are when we have put our faith and trust in Him. I pray for all who need protection and the peace that can only be found through Jesus Christ.

PS I’m getting up extra early next Sunday (;

Last but definitely not least, I miss our family, friends and neighbors in NC.  As Grandma Effie used to say, “I love you long distance.”
