Lord, You Know. Please Help.

It’s a huge challenge to be optimistic when we consider how this year has gone so far. It’s become increasingly difficult to watch the news, see slanderous ads and the ways people are being manipulated. Our so-called experts and politicians, of course, claim to have the answers. Sure there are brilliant people capable of making our lives better, healthier and more prosperous but there’s not one answer or one person who can do it alone. The strongest leaders depend on supporters to make them better equipped to serve.

Every leader needs advocates and defenders to survive. Whether we lead or follow, we have to consider different perspectives to figure things out. That does not mean settling or appeasing! That’s been done and it’s clear that does not work. What does work is realizing the things we don’t know or don’t understand and trusting God to answer. Before I wrote “My Prayer,” it was one of those days I couldn’t even find the words to pray. So I basically just said, “Lord, you know. Please help.” And He did!

I started writing this yesterday and this morning I saw a post from a dear friend, Joe Dean. I’m sharing his point of view for these reasons: He absolutely is a man of integrity; he’s a leader; he’s the kind of friend who’d be the first one there; he gives more than he gets; he loves his family and his friends and he loves his Lord and Savior. Here’s what he shared:

I need to rant for just a moment, I am 71 years old and I’ve worked hard all my life. I have made my reputation, the good and the bad, I didn’t inherit my job or my income, and I have worked hard to get where I am in life. I have juggled my job, my family, and made many sacrifices up front to secure a life for my family. It wasn’t always easy and still isn’t, but I did it all, while maintaining my integrity and my principles. I’ve never put anyone beneath myself or denied help to anyone. I have friends of every walk of life and if you’re in my circle, it should be understood that I don’t have to remind you of what I’d be willing to do for you. However…..

I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth” to people who don’t have my work ethic. People who have sacrificed nothing and feel entitled to receive everything.

I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it themselves.

I’m tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I’m tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all parties talk like their opinions matter to the common man. I’m tired of any of them even pretending they can relate to the life and bank account that I have.

I’m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I’m upset that I’m labeled as a racist because I am proud of my faith and trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

And for those afraid of Covid 19 killing you, understand God has a date for you to meet Him regardless of any diseases that could affect you. So if Covid is making you afraid to get out and enjoy spreading the Gospel of Jesus, maybe you should “Have a little talk with Jesus” because at some point in time you will, maybe now would be the best time to do that!!

I’m tired of being told I need to accept the latest fad or politically correct stupidity or befriending a group that’s intent is killing me because I won’t convert to their point of view.

I’m really tired of people who don’t take responsibility for their lives and actions. Especially the ones that want me to fund it. I’m tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I’m really tired. But, I’m also glad to be in the second half of my life. Because, mostly, I’m not going to have to see the world these people are creating. I thank God I’m on the way out and not on the way in. I just HATE the fact that my children and grandchildren are having to face this screwed up world. I want them to grow up understanding their freedoms of living in America, have respect for authority and the older generation who risked their lives to give us rights we currently have in America.

Any individual is not entitled to anything. You have a choice to work, a choice to stay off drugs, a choice to make something of yourself. I have nothing to do with your choice. That’s all on you. You ARE entitled to what YOU EARN.

Oh yeah…GOD BLESS AMERICA!

We need faith now more than ever. Our assurance is written in the Bible. I hope you will read what Jesus said in the Book of John, Chapter 14.

  • While reading this message I became connected with having the same exact thoughts. There was a time in my life that people didn’t think any other way, that they had to work and work hard to earn what they wanted or just needed in most cases. Just getting by took a work effort, No one expected to be given a life style, or feel they were entitled to anything but the freedom that this country has for the pursuit of happiness. And even that freedom is not just given, it is fought for. I will be turning 63 this month and have worked for 50 years and paid taxes and been a contributing member of society, and a patriot of this country and can’t stand to see others that have never paid a price for anything that they think they are entitled to. Their only task is to climb a fence of swim across a river. I feel sorry for my 23 year old daughter that she won’t experience the same country that I was so blessed to grow up in.
I pray that she and my son in law will have a country to be proud of .
