Millionaire

We just celebrated a very special Mother’s Day – our three generations together with the fourth on the way! Talia and Donnie are expecting their first baby – a little girl due in July!! It was a happy day for all and my sister Pam even surprised us! She doesn’t live close by but made the trip anyway. That made it extra special! Mom and Daddy were really happy and Mom looked beautiful! It was wonderful to have that time together. So many exclamation points…can you tell how happy I am?!?

Saturday was really special, too. Friends know I go to the barn every Saturday to help Talia with the horses. She’s being extra careful since she’s pregnant. It’s such a beautiful, peaceful, happy place and of course I love being with Talia! After the barn we usually get lunch and go shopping so I follow her wherever she wants to go. It’s usually just the two of us but it was a great surprise to see Donnie waiting for us when we got to Brier Creek! We had a fun time eating lunch – actually, big farmer’s breakfast – together and then Talia had a surprise for me 🙂  She said follow me and we went to the nail salon where she treated us to manicures together. Very nice!

Here’s where it gets interesting. As I sat beside her, just looking at her while her nails were being done, I literally started “seeing” her as if she was a little girl again… like we traveled back in time! I was mesmerized, my heart was so full and my eyes got all watery. Talia looked at me but I’m not sure if she noticed. I tried to blink and snap out of it so I wouldn’t cry. It was only happy tears from the best memories but I didn’t want her to think I’d lost my marbles LOL! Later on that night, I told Talia “I had the best day with you today,” and that I felt like writing. It was late so I decided I better get sleep before Mother’s Day and write today instead. I was also thinking about the gift Talia gave me for Mother’s Day last year. She created a video with pictures of us set to the song “Best Day” by Taylor Swift. Check out “Amazing Gift” in May 2020. That’s a real treasure! This year she hand-painted this beautiful flower pot and filled it with daisies 🙂 I love it! She’s so thoughtful very talented!!

… and soon to be “Nannie!” I couldn’t be happier or more hopeful for a wonderful future together!
