On Veterans Day we recognize all who have served in the United States Armed Forces, honor their commitment, respect their sacrifice and courage and, remember their purpose. I hope you have sincerely thanked a veteran, welcomed them home and at least, offered to do something for them. I can only imagine what they have endured to protect us and our freedom.
This brings me to another point to drive home – “Old Glory.” It really makes me mad to see anyone with disdain for the American Flag (and National Anthem.) Apparently, some are ignorant as to what it represents – history, valor and dignity. If brave men did not fight, we would not have our freedom or the “republic for which it stands, one Nation under God…” Neither should be taken for granted and if you’re on your knees, you better be praying. Check out the truth on this mug!
Last but not least, I want to give a shout out to Jerry Jones and his Dallas Cowboys. I love football and if it’s Sunday, Monday or Thursday, I’m on it!! Monday night’s game in Dallas started with an awesome tribute to our veterans. Their pre-game was significant because even if you’re not a huge fan, you’ve probably heard about some players choosing to kneel instead standing respectfully for the National Anthem. That is unless you work for Jerry Jones. The stadium was filled with patriotism and a flag that covered the entire field. It was spectacular! I only wish the Cowboys would have won. I love an organization with high standards and admirable leadership. God bless Texas and God bless the USA!!!!!
